Online vet care in Ontario for dogs

Repeat ear-drop course for recurring ear infections in dogs

Repeat the ear drops that cleared your dog’s last outer ear infection (otitis externa) online. A veterinarian licensed by the College of Veterinarians of Ontario reviews the ear history, the product that worked last time and current ear photos, then decides if a short repeat course is suitable.

  • $49 per consultation, reviewed the same day
  • No video call
  • Prescription sent to the pharmacy you choose

What the veterinarian does

You describe the previous infection, the product that cleared it, and the current signs, and upload clear photos of the ear. The veterinarian reviews the case the same day during business hours and, when a repeat course is appropriate, sends the prescription to your pharmacy.

This consultation is for pets that a veterinarian has already diagnosed and started on treatment. If your pet has never been treated for this, the veterinarian will tell you whether an online assessment is enough or whether an in-person examination is needed first. If it cannot be handled online, the fee is refunded.

What can be prescribed

  • Surolan ear drops (antifungal, antibiotic and anti-inflammatory), 7-day course
  • Otomax ear ointment (gentamicin, betamethasone and clotrimazole), 7-day course
  • Mometamax once-daily ear drops used at home (gentamicin, mometasone and clotrimazole), 7-day course

The veterinarian chooses what is appropriate for your pet. Telepets veterinarians do not prescribe controlled substances. Medication is paid to the pharmacy at its price; Telepets adds no markup.

Frequently asked questions

This consultation is for a repeat of a course that a veterinarian has already used for your dog. A first ear infection needs an examination of the ear canal, and the veterinarian will tell you to have your dog seen in person. If the case cannot be handled online, the fee is refunded.

$49 per consultation plus tax. Medication, dispensing fees and any shipping are paid to the pharmacy you choose, at that pharmacy’s price. Telepets adds no markup.

Intakes submitted during business hours (9 AM to 7 PM ET) are reviewed the same day, most within 90 minutes. After-hours submissions are reviewed the next business day.

No. You answer the intake on your own schedule, then a veterinarian messages you. The veterinarian may ask for photos or a short video clip of your pet, so it helps to have your pet nearby.

You choose. Pick up at a nearby pharmacy that carries the medication, or use a partner online pharmacy that delivers to your door. You pay the pharmacy directly.

If we cannot treat your pet online, the consultation fee is refunded. The veterinarian will tell you when your pet needs to be seen in person. Telepets is for non-urgent care; an emergency needs an emergency veterinary hospital.
