Online vet care in Ontario for dogs and cats
Insulin and diabetes supply renewal for dogs and cats
Renew your diabetic dog or cat’s insulin and monitoring supplies online. A veterinarian licensed by the College of Veterinarians of Ontario reviews your pet’s history, current insulin dose and monitoring before renewing.
- $49 per consultation, reviewed the same day
- No video call
- Prescription sent to the pharmacy you choose
What the veterinarian does
You enter the insulin type and dose your pet uses now, how your pet has been doing, and any recent glucose readings or test results. The veterinarian reviews the case and, when it is appropriate, renews the insulin and the supplies your pet needs, matched to the current insulin type.
This consultation is for pets that a veterinarian has already diagnosed and started on treatment. If your pet has never been treated for this, the veterinarian will tell you whether an online assessment is enough or whether an in-person examination is needed first. If it cannot be handled online, the fee is refunded.
What can be prescribed
- Insulin renewal, matched to your pet’s current insulin type
- Matching insulin syringes or pen needles
- Glucose monitoring supplies (sensor or test strips)
The veterinarian chooses what is appropriate for your pet. Telepets veterinarians do not prescribe controlled substances. Medication is paid to the pharmacy at its price; Telepets adds no markup.
